As we approach the last days of our Indie Spotlight on Stonemaier Games’s Viticulture, we thought about what we could have done to highlight this wonderful game. Some of the things we came up with included:
- Filming a meeple aria, conveniently set in an Italian vineyard…
- Write a gritty who-dunnit piece about a murder in the fields, with the gruesome reveal of several of the meeple workers suspended in a jar of jelly…
- A thorough and thoughtful op-ed about the plight of worker conditions in board games, from the perspective of Viticulture’s lone seasonal unit…
- A Viticulture worker dance party. Could’ve been traditional music. Could’ve been Gangnam Style…
- Something something something – Cthulhu shows up…
This only goes to show what things people are capable of if time, money, talent, and ambition aren’t factors. We also probably shouldn’t have tried to brainstorm late at night.
So what we decided to do for you, dear readers, is instead give you a chance to enjoy the game as it’s intended. Courtesy of the game designers, we are happy to inform that The Cardboard Republic is giving away a retail copy of the game!
