CoolMiniOrNot has confirmed that the publisher intends to strengthen its publishing partnership with Italian publisher Cranio Creations, bringing English-language versions of Lorenzo il Magnifico and Council of 4 to retail in the second quarter of 2017.

The announcement comes just as CMON is set to release the English-language version of another Cranio Creations title, Unusual Suspects, this Friday.

Lorenzo il Magnifico is a game of worker placement and resource management set during the Italian renaissance. Players aim to shore up their influence by sending members of their families out to gather resources and claim territory, all while paying respect to the church (or not, assuming you’re okay with the penalties that follow).

On the other hand, Council of 4 is more of a network building game that puts players in the role of merchants in an empire divided into three separate kingdoms. Players compete to work with the nobles in each kingdom in order to obtain building permits in order  to establish Emporiums within the kingdoms’ cities. Council of 4 features a modular board and different setup options to help keep things fresh from game to game. Also interesting is that this game was created by both Simone Luciani and Daniele Tascini, the same game design pair behind Tzolk’in: The Mayan Calendar.
