Gale Force Nine, the miniatures and accessories company responsible for the rather successful Spartacus: A Game of Blood and Treachery, is hoping to capitalize on their board game hit. This time, we’re heading back out into the black with Firefly: The Game, in what they hope will be the first in a series of Firefly-based products.

GF9 is teaming up with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and are hoping for a Q3 2013 release. You can head to their site to read the official release or to their Facebook page to follow the game’s progress.

Players will get their own Firefly-class ships, and get to stock it with their own Mals, Kaylees, Washes, and Jaynes (ok, maybe not Jaynes…) There’s adventure to be had – and money to be made. Just don’t run into some Reavers out there while you’re doing it.

It just goes to show you can’t keep a good Browncoat down for long.
