Weekly News

3/29/13

Site News:

Last weekend was PAX East, and some of us are still recovering from the fantastic gamer-fest that it was. You can check out some of our observations here.

As for this weekend, TableTop Day is almost upon us! If you happen to be from he Greater Boston area, you’ll be able to find us at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell campus Saturday 11 – midnight in the McGauvran Student Center. Check our Facebook event for more details. Even if you can’t make it, see if you can experience TableTop Day in your own way!

Stop in on Monday to see which game will be the next Indie Spotlight game!

New Games:

So, this is an interesting one. Neocolonialism is a new computer game we saw at PAX that has a very distinct board game feel to it. We’ll be keeping an eye out for their beta, due out in April.

Koryŏ is a new game (late 2013 release), and the artwork has caught our attention. It looks like a very quick and strategic political card game. Gotta love those steampunk priests.

Fluxx: The Boardgame. For reals. There aren’t many details on it yet, but it’s on its way in July, 2013.

Other News:

In case you can’t make it to our TableTop Day event (hint, hint), Felicia Day has a few suggestions on what you can play.

TableTop Season 2 is set to premiere on April 4th! That’s next week!

Lastly, our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Todd Breitenstein, the co-designer of Zombies!!! and President of Twilight Creations. Todd was fighting an aggressive form of cancer in recent months, but he unfortunately passed away in the last week as a result.
